BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Jun. 24, CMC – Promoting sustainable development through building will be the focus of the inaugural Diaspora Conference that gets underway on Tuesday, under the theme “Building partnership towards sustainable development”
The Conference will also  target priority areas such as agriculture, the development of small and medium enterprises, renewable energy, engineering, information and communication technologies (ICTs) and tourism. 
The opening ceremony and cultural extravaganza will be held under the patronage of the Governor-General Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton.
“It gives me immense pleasure to welcome all of you to the first ever Diaspora Conference. This is a flagship event for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which I am privileged to lead. The aim of the conference is to engage you, get your ideas and reacquaint you with your country,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, in a statement issued inviting persons to participate in the upcoming conference. 
“We invite you to invest, we invite you to lend your ideas, lend your expertise and really help us in our development of our country,” Brantley said.
