Thieves targeted over a dozen vehicles in All Saints over the weekend, breaking into and ransacking them, and in two cases, drivers reported items were stolen.

James Hughes was among the victims as thieves made off with all four tyres from his Toyota Spacio, A47669.

Hughes said he locked and secured his vehicle outside his home around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and at 7:00 a.m. the following morning, he discovered the wheels were gone.

Another All Saints resident reported his Toyota Yaris broken into and thieves took off with his sunglasses. He found the car ransacked but nothing else was stolen since that item was the only valuable thing he had left inside.

In addition to those two reports, about a dozen people from All Saints reported their vehicles were broken into between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Each victim discovered one of the rear quarter panels had been broken and the thieves entered and ransacked the vehicles looking for valuables – they found none.

The vehicles owners/drivers had cleared out all their valuables before locking the vehicles and parking them in front of their homes for the night.

Toyota brand (make) vehicles were the most targeted, ranging from Vitz to Harrier, Spacio to Axio, RunX to Mazda, and Rav4. A Honda Civic was also targeted.

Up to yesterday afternoon, neither the police nor the vehicle owners/drivers had any useful information as to the identity of the perpetrator/s.

In recent weeks, there have been numerous similar reports of malicious damage of vehicles where thieves smashed the rear quarter panel glass to get into the vehicles. In many of those previous instances, the owner/driver reported that items were stolen.
