The Cabinet has initiated action following the tragic death of Member of Parliament, Honourable Asot Michael, with a criminal investigation now underway.

Following a lengthy cabinet discussion, during which the Attorney General consulted directly with the Police Commissioner, the government will request assistance from Scotland Yard to investigate not only Michael’s death but also the unsolved deaths of two young females for which there are yet no suspects.

The government has announced plans for an Official Funeral for the parliamentarian.

Cabinet members extended their condolences to Michael’s immediate family, including his son Nigel, sisters Teresa-Ann and Soraya, his constituents, and supporters.

  1. The question that needs to be asked is why do criminals feel confident enough to commit these crimes in the first place. Atlee has shown he cannot handle crime within the force much less island wide and the legal system including lawyers are just as compromising when it comes to holding people accountable to law depending on who it is committing the crime. These murders are seeds of crime that Atlee has sat back and allowed to grow.
