A mother has launched an appeal for the public to assist her in recovering the contents of her stolen handbag —particularly her daughter’s US passport— which were taken after her car was broken into on Sunday.

According to the victim, Dayon Campbell, she and her two children were at Runaway Beach when the incident occurred.

She said it was around 1:30 pm when she noticed her car window had been smashed and subsequently realised that her bag and its contents were nowhere to be seen.

She described the bag as black with a padlock located at the front. She added that among the missing items were her passport which contained her US visitor’s visa, her Medical Benefits card, her driver’s licence/ID and her two-year-old daughter’s United States passport.

Despite having already filed a report of the incident with the police, the distressed Campbell said she decided to go public with the story because her daughter, Alani Kerr, is due to travel to the United States next month for surgery.

She appealed for the perpetrators or anyone with knowledge of the incident to assist by delivering her bag with its contents to the nearest police station or to OBSERVER media.
