Just when you thought she was done, she does it again and weeks after signalling she would have shut her season down, Ambassador Kimberly Percival secured yet another pro title, winning the Bikini Fitness segment of the IFBB Pro Cancun 2024 over the weekend.

Percival, having won the IFBB World Championships at the Arnold Sports Festival Europe on October 13 and silver at the IFBB’s Night of Champions 2024 just one week later, posed her way to top honours ahead of Yissel Leon and Julia Prado both of Cancun who finished second and third respectively.

The athlete said winning the event holds great significance for her after having just missed winning her pro card at the same show back in 2018.

“It’s really a different level of satisfying and a really unique memory to return as a pro and also to walkaway with winning that Cancun Pro title so definitely some sentimental value to this particular trip and as I said, I am planning for Mr Universe Chile while is next Sunday and then, for sure, 150 percent locking it down for 2024 because Christman ham must get eaten,” she said.

The successful pro athlete said her intention was to call it a year after the London event but admitted she became intrigued with the Mr Universe Chile and that, with a little encouragement from a friend, she decided to go the distance.

“I know I said I was done after London but to be honest, I got home and I knew that Mr Universe Chile was coming up in about three weeks and it was kind of lingering in my mind and it was like, you said you were done, but I couldn’t get it out of my head and said let’s go with it and I was able to make it happen. It just so happened that two weeks ago, following making the decision to do Mr Universe Chile, the Cancun show popped up on the calendar which is just one week ahead and with a little bit of a nudge from Melissa [Seaforth], I considered it and said it’s just a week apart so why not,” she said.

Jamaica’s Deidre Lewis and Cancun’s Raquel Ramos were fourth and fifth respectively at the IFBB Pro Cancun. Percival had also won gold at the IFBB Pro Grand Gala held in St Vincent Italy in October.
