Mill Reef record second win

It was celebration time at the JSC Sports Complex on Monday night as Mill Reef recorded their second win of the ongoing Cool and Smooth-sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business League.
The newbies edged out Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT), 49-46 in the feature match of the quadruple header.
 Nigel Fergus led the victors with 10 points in the nail-biting affair while ABIIT’s Michael Barton
and Michael Gunthropes netted 13 and 10 points respectively.
Defending champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB) moved back to the top of the standings with a 12-1 record.
The champions who were led by national player, Kareem “Macky” Edwards with a game high 38 points, flexed their muscles on Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) United, winning 72-51.
Teammate, Shawn “Gizmo” Williams chipped in with 14 points while Airport’s Evans Jones sank 14.
In the other matches played that night, Pointe FM defeated FLOW, 78-45 while Police Vertex went under to Fitzroy Rewinding, 64-48.
Khalid Shabazz of Pointe FM netted 13 points while FLOW’s Benjamin “Benjie” Meade had 16.
Fitzroy’s Eric Joseph had a game high 28 points while Leroy Jeffrey and Dale Gore sank 10 points each for the lawmen.
Games on Tuesday night were postponed due to the ABBA Elections.
Matches will however continue on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. as APUA Water will battle APUA Head Office, at 7:30 p.m. Kennedys will face Cleaners while at 8:30 p.m. Blue Waters will play Eye Mobile.
The final match at 9:30 p.m. will see Dixie battle ABIIT.
