Men’s and Women’s tennis teams eliminated from National Cup

Team Wadadli’s men’s and women’s tennis teams were both eliminated on Tuesday after losing their matches in the National Cup at the ongoing Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Baranquilla, Colombia.
The men’s team which comprised of Cordell Williams Jr. and Jody Maginley went under to Guatemala while the
ladies, Alicia Williams and D’Jeri Raymond, fell to Bahamas.
The National Cup follows the same format as the Davis and Fed Cup where teams will play two singles and one doubles match.
Williams Jr. suffered the first defeat for Team Wadadli losing in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 to Wilfredo Gonzalez on court 3 while teammate, Maginley, despite a valiant effort, folded to Christopher Diaz, falling 6-4, 6-3.
The ladies followed suit as Bahamian Danielle Thompson overpowered  Williams in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 while Raymond was defeated by Kerrie Cartwright 6-1, 6-1.
Results for both doubles matches could not be obtained.
