Former national and professional player, Lennox “Termite” McCoy, said he could play for another team in the Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division One competition next season.ayoff titles this year, said that should both Vivian “Boast” Destin and Xavier Meade opt out of competing next season, he too would more than likely, opt out as well.
“No, if Boast is not coming back then I will not be going back. I will only play with the same team if I am playing for Braves next year with the same team but if Boast is not going to come back then it is going to be too difficult on me. I did it for two years and it was just a struggle and I don’t’ want to go through that,” he said.
“We didn’t bring [any] overseas players and we had guys that we could have brought but with me, Boast and X [Xavier Meade], when I saw it I was like, I think we can do well with these guys right here,” he added.
According to McCoy, however, if not for Braves, the chances of him playing next season are very high.
“I still have some basketball left inside of me so I won’t 100 per cent say that I am going to be finish. However, I would like to come back and defend the championship but it’s something I am still thinking about. It’s very difficult to stay in shape and to be able to find the motivation to be able to play against the guys because I’ve been so successful throughout my whole career,” he said.
Braves defeated Flyers 3-1 in the best of five playoff series at the JSC basketball complex, winning game four on Sunday to take the coveted title. The wining team received an EC $10,000 cash prize.
