Mas’ band accuses Festivals Commission of victimisation

A historical mas’ band has alleged that government officials responsible for Carnival have made strategic efforts to blacklist it from participating in the 2019 Oasis Children’s Carnival event.

Alister Thomas, the CEO of Ali and Associates has claimed that the principals of at least four primary schools he has been directly involved with over the years have told him that the Festivals Commission has been trying to deter them from working with the mas’ band this year.

He was transparent with the financial standing of the mas’ band and indicated that $60,000 has already been spent out of pocket for this Carnival season.
