A young man who, allegedly with three other men, attacked, beat and stole items from another young man has been placed on remand at His Majesty’s Prison.

Jaheim Christopher reportedly wounded his victim and then went to his car and removed a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and a hand band both totaling $1,750.

This incident occurred on January 18 at Heritage Quay. He’d reportedly parked his motorcar and, as he exited, several masked men dressed in black surrounded him.

They began to beat him, but during the onslaught he managed to pull off Christopher’s mask, revealing his identity.

The men then went to the victim’s car and stole his phone and the hand band. He sustained injuries to his hands, knees, scalp and right temple, including other abrasions and a laceration which required seven stitches to close.

Christopher pleaded guilty to wounding the victim but denied stealing the items.

He tried to explain to the court that the complainant, along with other men, rushed him earlier this year. Additionally, he said that the victim had followed him and shot at him on a previous occasion. The magistrate advised that he should have reported the matter to the police instated of taking the law into his own hands.

Christopher will remain on remand until February 18 when his matter is set for trial.
