The political leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) is calling on the Minister of Lands to break her silence and speak openly about the monies spent for the project being undertaken by the National Housing Company.

“We have a housing minister in the person of the Honourable Maria Browne and she needs to step up to the plate and say how much money has been spent on housing,” Harold Lovell said.

His call came on the heels of comments yesterday by Minister of Works Lennox Weston who said that the pace of the project and the money wastage warranted a change of management in favour of his ministry.

Lovell essentially commended the Works Minister for calling out his own government for lapsing in the completion of the “500 houses in 500 days.”

As a result, Lovell is once again calling for the National Housing Company to be investigated.
