Liberta dismantle Bolans in Twenty20

ST JOHN’S, Antigua- PIC Liberta recorded an impressive seven-wicket victory over Bolans, reaching success a third time in the Cool & Smooth sponsored Antigua & Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCA) Twenty20 Tournament on Thursday.

Opting to bat after having won the toss, Bolans were aided by knocks of 35 and 25, respectively, from Earl Waldron and Winston Nelson as they reached 120 before they were all out.

Waldron had his 35 runs coming in just 22 deliveries with four boundaries and two sixes, while Nelson’s 25 came off 24 balls with three boundaries and a six.

Bowling for the victors, Stanley Simon picked up four wickets for 19 runs off four overs, while Kadeem Phillip bagged two for 15 off four overs.

Liberta then cruised to 124 for three in their reply. Phillip topped all scorers with a knock of 56 not out from 41 deliveries. Phillip’s performance included seven boundaries.

There was also a knock of 27 coming from Kerry Mentore, while Winston Bachelor added 24.

Simon, for his four-wicket haul, was adjudged Man of the Match and walked away with the $500 cash prize.

In Thursday’s feature match, City Pharmacy Mahico made light work of the winless All Saints to take a crushing nine-wicket victory.

All Saints crumbled for 62 all out before Mahico cruised home in just seven overs, losing only one wicket in the process.

Mahico’s De-Andre Ford was named Man of the Match for his haul of four wickets for 12 runs.
