LIAT and the pilots’ union were in arbitration hearings for the entire day yesterday as they pushed forward to resolve their long-running industrial dispute.

The talks, involving the management and legal counsel for the airline and representatives of the Leeward Island Airline Pilots Association (LIALPA) and its lawyers, started around 9 am and continued past 5 pm.

Both sides are keeping the developments of the talks close to their chest.

Barbadian QC LeRoy Inniss, who is chairing the three-member arbitration panel, imposed a gag order on both sides when they met on December 1st.
