The North Sound Raceway will become a hub of activity on Sunday as the Leo Club of Antigua hosts its annual car show and family fun day at the venue.

The initiative, according to the Leo Club’s Vice President, Teesha Browne, is geared towards raising funds for the organisation’s community outreach programmes as well as to provide members of the public with an opportunity to view options from a number of the country’s dealerships.

“Not only do we have competitions but we have certain car dealerships that will be displaying their vehicles. We’ll have cars, pick-ups, SUVs, vans and even buses, and we will have old school and new school. The category for new school depends on the year of your vehicle and obviously for old school it also depends on the year of your vehicle,” she said.

The event, which is slated to rev off at 1pm, will cater to all members of the family as it also commemorates the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

“We are working to have a kids’ corner [that] will include face painting, bounce castles. So [there will be] a lot of activities for the children while the parents enjoy watching the various displays and engaging with the different institutions that will be there. It is a family affair, so come out and support,” Browne said.

Entrance to the venue on Sunday is $20 and those wishing to enter the competition can do so by calling 714-9113 for more information.
