Leewards Women crash to second defeat in Women’s T20 Blaze

The Leeward Islands were defeated by the Windward Islands in the Women’s T20 Blaze on Saturday night at Warner Park.

They were sent in to bat first and were restricted to 89 for seven from their allotted 20 overs.

Captain Amanda Edwards top-scored with 30 from 37 balls, while Reniece Boyce made 23 from 37 balls.

The pick of the Windward Islands bowlers was Pearl Etienne who picked up two for five runs, and Qiana Joseph who had two for 13.

In response, the Windward Islands reached the target in 15 overs with a score of 91 for four, as Joseph top-scored with 37 from 39 balls.

Rozel Liburd was the Leeward Islands best bowler collecting three wickets for 19 runs.

It is their second loss from their four matches, and they will meet the Super 50 Champions, Jamaica, on Monday in their final match.
