Late arrival of mangoes affects festival

Taken from: www.mango.org

The usually highly anticipated annual mango fest is not going to be held this year.

The announcement was made in a press statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs issued (this morning).

The ministry says there are several reasons that hampered the festival this year to include the lateness of Primary Mangoes.

The ministry is also in the process of coordinating two major Agriculture Initiatives which it says require the full focus of the technical personnel.

However, agriculture officials intend to widen the scope of the Festival for 2019 with the hope of having a bigger and better Mango Fest event.
