Lady Hoppers and Cutting Edge gets women’s football victories

Multiple-times champions, Lady Hoppers and Cutting Edge, were winners in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) women’s football league over the weekend, each winning by a similar 1-0 margin at the association’s technical and training center in Paynters.

In the opening match of a double-header, Emma Belazaire scored in minute 56 to hand Lady Hoppers their first victory in as many matches.

Trendsetters sit at the bottom of the seven-team standings without a point after two matches.

In the other match, Brianna Auguiste scored in minute 63 to lead Cutting Edge past Fort Road 1-0. Cutting Edge leads the competition with six points from two outings while Fort Road are also yet to get off the mark.
