Former champions, Kennedy’s, handed APUA Head Office their first loss of the season in the Cool and Smooth Business Basketball League on Wednesday night.

Playing in the feature encounter of the double-header evening at the YMCA Sports Complex, Kennedy’s stunned Head Office, winning 62-50.

Former national player Xavier “Xman” Meade led the victors with 19 points, while teammate Adriel Ramirez contributed by scoring 17.

Cohen DeSouza was the leading scorer for Head Office with 21 points.

Jamie Harris chipped in, netting 10 points in a losing effort.

Head Office now hold a 6-1 record, identical to that of Kennedy’s.

In the other match played at that venue, APUA Water remain winless after suffering their fifth straight loss, this time to Dixie.

The 72-64 loss saw Olivee’ Morris score a game-high 23 points for Water with assistance from Michael Jeffers with 15.

Dixie’s Gija George had 17 points, Kirwan Peterson 16, and Kelvyn Pimental, 12.

Meanwhile, at JSC, Fitzroy’s Rewinding Transformers defeated Area 51 Invaders, 56-38, while A-Mobile went under to Pointe FM by a 69-43 scoreline.

Nkenge “Beef” Drew led the charge for Transformers with 20 points, while Area 51’s Teon Joseph had 13.

Victor Osbourne shot the lights out banking four three-point bombers and a basket to end with 16 points for Pointe FM, while Tahj Kirby netted 18 for A-Mobile.

Games will continue on Saturday night at JSC starting at 6:30 pm as FLOW will play Eye Mobile Vision Care while, at 7:30 pm, defending champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board will face Digicel.

Anjo Wholesale and Sandals will battle it out at 8:30 pm in the feature encounter.
