Kennedys Remain Undefeated, Police Record First Win

2016 Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business Basketball champions, Kennedys, remain one of two undefeated teams in the competition edging out Eye Mobile Vision Care, 54-50 on Monday night.
The feature encounter went down to the wire at the JSC Sports Complex, but it would be the former champions who would rise to the top as they were led by national player, Xavier “Xman” Meade, with 23 points, pushing their undefeated record to 5-0.
Eye Mobile’s Darryl Goodwin and Adonis Humphreys sank 15 and 14 points in a losing effort.
Police Vertex secured their first win of the 2018 season edging out newbies, Mill Reef, 53-50 in the third match of the quadruple-header night.
The lawmen, led by veteran, Leroy Jeffery who netted 14 points, dug deep in the dying seconds of the nail-biting affair to snatch the victory away.
Nigel Fergus was the leading scorer for the newbies with 17 points while teammates Elliott Samuel and Roosevelt Browne contributed with 13 and 11 points respectively.
In the other matches played that night, Fitzroy Rewinding handed APUA Head Office their first loss of the season, winning 56-43 while Pointe FM racked up another win over APUA Water, 64-39.
Kwame Payne led Rewinding with 12 points to upset APUA Head Office ending their unblemished record.
Pointe FM’s Russel Daley set a new three-point record this season, by dropping eight three-point bombers in a single game.
Daley ended the encounter with 28 points while Corey Martin had 10 points for the watermen.
