Jumby Bay hand ABIIT their second loss

2016 champions, Jumby Bay picked up where they left off after a one-year absence from the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA) Business league to hand current champions, Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT) their second loss of the season.
The feature encounter of the double header of matches on Sunday at the YMCA Volleyball Indoor facility, saw Jumby Bay defeat ABIIT, 2-1.
After taking the first set, 25-22, Jumby Bay faltered in the second, falling to ABIIT by two points, 24-26, and giving ABIIT some much-needed momentum.
That momentum however quickly switched gears as Jumby Bay bounced back in the third and final set to win, 15-8.
Jumby Bay hold a remarkable undefeated record having won the competition, four years straight.
Police kept their unblemished record as the lawmen now hold a 2-0 record after winning in straight sets, 25-9, 25-16, over Medical Benefits Scheme/ Social Security (MEDSO).
Twenty-four hours earlier, Island Provision defeated ECAB, 2-1 (10-25, 25-15, 15-5) while Inland Revenue went under to Sandals in straight sets, 25-20, 25-21.
Games will continue on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with Cliff Hangers facing ACB while at 7:30 p.m. Scotia Bank will battle Ministry of Festivals, Arts and Sports.
All games will be played at the YMCA Volleyball Indoor facility with an admission charge of two dollars.
