In Monday’s Premier League action, John Hughes FC secured a gutsy 2-0 victory over Green City FC despite being reduced to 10 men. Troy Jules proved to be the difference-maker, converting a penalty in the 33rd minute and adding a second goal in the 71st minute. The win was even more impressive considering John Hughes had to play nearly an entire half with 10 men after Hanel Burrell received his second yellow card in the 43rd minute.
In Second Division fixtures played on Friday, Golden Grove FC plucked the CPTSA Wings SC with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Johnsons. In-form player Stephen Hughes got the scoring underway early in the 2nd minute, followed by Adonijah Dyett‘s strike in the 32nd minute. The second half saw Tyler Anthony and Terrence Spencer add to the tally in the 79th and 84th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, at Bethesda, visiting Blackburn Palace FC secured a 2-1 victory over Bethesda FC in a closely contested match. Diondre Harrigan proved to be the hero for Palace, scoring in both halves (25′, 87′), while Xaroy Martin’s 55th-minute goal for Bethesda wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.
