Antiguan fast bowler Alzarri Joseph is hoping to gain valuable experience and improve his craft during the Windies tour of England, which starts on August 18 with the first of three Test matches in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Speaking on the Good Morning Jojo Sports Show this week, Joseph said his aim is to put the ball in the right places at all time.
“I am just looking to hit my areas and be as consistent as I can be. I don’t see any problems for now but everything for me, I think, is going pretty well so I just have to keep working on my game and improving,” he said.
Joseph, who has picked up 15 wickets in five Tests so far for the regional team, added that although his coaches have been positive of his progress thus far, he is eager to perfect his game.
“Personally, not from my liking but from the feedback of the coaches they are saying I am progressing very well but I don’t think that I’m at the level that I really want to be. Probably I can try to be a bit more patient and that’s where I really think that I go wrong most times,” the young player said.
The Windies will play three Tests, five One Day Internationals and a lone T20 match during their tour of England.
The Caribbean side will also play a series of warm up matches from August 1 with a three-day contest against Essex in Chelmsford.
