Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph picked up a five-for to restrict South Africa to 213 for six in their 20 overs and propel West Indies to an exciting seven-run triumph in the third and decisive T20 International against the Proteas in Johannesburg.

Joseph claimed five for 40 in four overs at an economy rate of 10 runs per over to help the regional squad defend a modest 220 for eight.

Joseph had opener Quinton de Kock caught at deep point for 24 by Roston Chase in the fourth over before he had Rilee Rossouw caught by Johnson Charles behind the stumps for 42 in the 10th over.

The Antiguan, named Player of the Match, then had David Miller caught at long-on by Sheldon Cottrell for 11 runs in the 14th over, before picking up the wickets of Reeza Hendricks for 83 and Heinrich Klaasen for six, both in the 18th over.

Jason Holder picked up the other wicket, claiming 1/42 in his four overs.

Earlier, West Indies amassed 220 for eight after they were sent to bat by South Africa who won the toss.

They were led by Romario Shepherd who made 44 not out down the order, hitting three sixes and two fours. Nicholas Pooran chipped in with 41 from 19 deliveries, hitting four maximums and two fours in the process. Brandon King contributed 37 at the top of the order. Joseph batted not out on 14.

Lungi Nigidi (2/45), Kagiso Rabada (2/50) and Anrich Nortje (2/36) were the pick of the bowlers for South Africa.

Johnson Charles was name Player of the Series

The results handed West Indies a 2-1 series win after having won the opening T20I by three wickets on 25 March, while the Proteas won the second by six wickets just one day later.
