National record holder in both the shot-put and discuss throw, Jess St John, has hinted that she could return to competition despite having not represented Antigua and Barbuda since 2018 when she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

“I am still young, I am still super strong and I know a lot of the technical aspects and just before I took a pause I learnt the rotational and so I just have to get back into it, get back the support, the motivation and we’ll see what’s the next step,” she said.

St John holds the shot-put record with a distance of 17.32 meters achieved in April, 2018 at the Commonwealth Games and the discus throw record with a distance of 43.84 meters achieved in March of 2016.

The athlete said she is still in tip-top shape.

“I am in the gym. I haven’t really picked up the shot put for a while but I am still in the gym and still getting the power and the strength in,” she said.

The athlete also holds the national indoor record for the shot-put with a distance of 14.63 meters achieved in 2015.
