Jennings United FC delivered a stunning performance in First Division action, recording an 8-0 victory over Liberta Blackhawks SC, while Belmont FC secured a convincing 5-2 win against Bethesda FC in Second Division play during Tuesday’s ABFA fixtures.
At Liberta, Jennings United unleashed an attacking masterclass against the home side. Gayon Wright opened the scoring in the second minute, setting the tone for what would become a dominant display. The lead doubled through an unfortunate own goal by Leonard Julian in the eighth minute, before Daveia Aaron extended the advantage in the 28th minute. Wright completed his brace just before halftime, making it 4-0 in the 43rd minute.
The second half saw no respite for Liberta as Daryl Massicot struck twice, scoring in the 55th and 72nd minutes. Jean-Pierre Williams added his name to the scoresheet in the 82nd minute, before Rasheed Lambert completed the rout in the 90th minute.
In other First Division action, Bolans FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Police FC, with Taiem Tonge converting from the penalty spot in the 37th minute. The match saw Police FC reduced to 10 men when Chevaughn Jackson received a red card in the 81st minute for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. The last time the two sides met, the victors enjoyed a 3-1 win margin over the lawmen, during which Tonge was the star of the show with a brace.
At Bendals, the home team shared points with Lion Hill FC in a 1-1 draw. Kaijah Matthew put Bendals ahead in the 51st minute, but Jaydiel Francis ensured Lion Hill left with a point after equalizing in the 85th minute.
In Second Division play at Cashew Hill, Belmont FC dominated with their forward play against Bethesda FC. Jahvier Joseph opened the scoring in the sixth minute, followed by Zamaal Greene in the 13th minute. While O’Shale Simon pulled one back for Bethesda in the 30th minute, Malique Edwards restored Belmont’s two-goal cushion before halftime.
The second half saw Greene complete his brace, with Jamal Spencer also finding the net in the 67th minute. Kazi Quinland scored a consolation goal for Bethesda in the 73rd minute, but Belmont’s victory was never in doubt.
