Jennings beat Ottos, AGS claim first innings points over Clare Hall

Jennings Secondary School (JSS) were winners over Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) when they clashed in the boys’ under-15 division of the School Two Day Cricket Competition this week.

Batting first, JSS amassed 168 for nine declared in their first innings. Dahri Francis hit a top score of 90 while there were contributions from Shaquan Daniel and Glenton Williams who made 23 and 18, respectively.

Bowling for Ottos Comprehensive, Xaveek Toppin claimed four wickets for 36 runs in six overs with Nayon Knight and Jayonte Joseph each claiming two victims.

Jennings, in their second innings, declared at 54 for four, leaving OCS to chase 138 for victory in their second innings. Ottos could only get to 57 all out with their best effort coming from Knight who made 24.

Williams was the pick of the bowlers for Jennings, snatching five wickets for 20 runs in six overs. Matthew Miller did well with the ball, bagging three wickets for 19 runs in seven overs.

Meanwhile, Antigua Grammar School (AGS) picked up first innings points against Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS).

Batting first, Clare Hall raised 168 for eight declared in 41.4 overs. Jewel Andrew and Amos Christian each had 30 runs with Kimberly Anthony hitting 22 not out.

Marcus Williams, Glen Williams and Tyree Moore all claimed two wickets for AGS.

When their turn at the crease arrived, AGS amassed 208 for eight. Malik Jacobs slammed 106 while Tyree Moore hitting a half century at 50 runs. Michael Harillal was the pick of the bowlers for CHSS with four wickets for 57 runs in 17 overs.  Neither team batted a second time.
