Jennings and Demolition record wins in opening bout

Jennings and Demolition both kicked off their 2019 campaigns in the Alvin Morris Football Tournament on a high note last weekend in Old Road.

Jennings, playing on Sunday night in the lone encounter, handed Green City a 3-1 trouncing.

Geonnil Wright was a goal shy of a hattrick for the victors, hitting home twice, while teammate Maliko Anthony found the back of the net to secure the team’s final goal of the match.

Green City’s Audwin Joseph was the lone goal scorer for his side.

Twenty-four hours prior, Demolition got the better of Bolans, edging them 1-0 in the lone match-up.

Rakeem Henry was the hero of the night as he scored the only goal.

Matches will continue on Saturday at 7 pm when Bolans battle Green City.

Six overall teams – Jennings, Bolans, Demolition, Green City, Grenades Youths and Backyard Rebels will vie for the title as the tournament kicked off last Saturday in Old Road and is set to end with the finals on June 23rd.
