The Antigua & Barbuda Bodybuilding & Weightlifting Federation (ABBWF) has named a seven-member national team to this year’s Central American & Caribbean Championships slated for September 28 to October 1 in Mexico.
National bodybuilding champion Kenny Jacobs leads the team and is joined by fellow heavyweight contender and former champion Ollyn Martin, middleweight winner and also a former national champion Orson Martin, lightweight champion Elvis Bailey and classic bodybuilding winner and first time competitor Bernard Percival.
Bikini champion Kimberly Ephraim and CAC first-timer Sher-Rhonda Braithwaite rounds off the selections for the annual competition.
The seven-member team is a reduction to the 10-member team that attended last year’s championships held in Santo Domingo.
Jacobs won a second straight overall title during last Saturday’s national championships at the Multipurpose Cultural Centre at Perry Bay, edging rivals Orson Martin and Bailey to the coveted prize.
The bodybuilder later said that his goal is to get that elusive pro card at this year’s CAC.
