Investigations into fire at Villa home

Firefighters have continued their investigations into a blaze which destroyed a two-storey building in Villa. According to Chief Fire Officer Elvis Weaver, the fire occurred Monday at 3:24 in the morning, destroying all items in the building.

Weaver said the building, which had a shop on the lower floor, was owned by its sole resident, Andrew Antonio. The Chief Fire Officer explained that all the contents of the building were destroyed, including “passports, money and drivers ID.” Weaver said the exact cause of the fire remained unknown, even as officers from the fire department returned to the site to continue their investigations yesterday
