Despite being denied the opportunity to practice medicine in his native land, Dr Jose Humphreys continues to climb the academic ladder of success as he continues to pursue studies in health-related fields.
Dr Humphreys, who is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, specialising in Health Policy with a strong focus on public health, at Walden University, has been invited to join three internationally recognised associations, due to his outstanding performance in his programme.
For the past two years, he has received As throughout the entire course and is currently finishing his dissertation — which focuses on the care of the elderly in nursing homes and the challenges facing policy development and implementation that govern practice standards — under the supervision of Professors Christopher Jones, PhD, and MiYoung Lee, PhD.
He recently completed the final of four residencies and all the course work requirements in the United States.
Dr Humphreys was invited to join Walden University’s Golden Key, the honour society of the highest performing students in the world and the University’s chapter of Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration.
According to the institution’s website, “Golden Key International Honour Society is the world’s premier collegiate honour society, recognising outstanding academic achievement and connecting individuals locally, regionally, and globally with a lifetime of opportunity, reward, and success.”
The society partners with major corporations and programmes to recognise and support academics, leadership, and service to cultivate personal, professional, and altruistic goals.
