Men’s physique bodybuilder, Brad Benjamin, has assured that he will be accepting his International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Elite Pro Card following his impressive showing at the Pan American Miami Grand Prix held in Miami, Florida, over the weekend.
Speaking with Observer from Miami, Benjamin said his work will continue on return to Antigua on Tuesday as he is excited for his long-awaited pro debut.
“I will start going back into the lab [gym] and will get ready to make my pro debut, and definitely I am accepting that pro card, so look out for me to do my pro debut, but definitely I will be accepting the pro card,” he said.
Benjamin finished second in the overall division of the men’s physique category, automatically qualifying for his pro card as the show awarded the top three in the overall categories with the sought after qualification. The Antiguan had previously won his class in the up to 170 centimeters category.
He said it was a tough fight as all the competitors were in top shape.
“I was fighting all year round and it was a good feeling to earn that pro card. The competition here was very impressive, these guys came with their A-game, and we all put up a fight but I came out on top, winning my class which is the short class in the men’s physique and also, I saw that I had the judges’ eyes and that they were very impressed,” Benjamin said.
Benjamin will become the country’s 17th IFBB Elite pro, joining the likes of Ambassador Kimberly Percival, Bernard Percival, Elvis Bailey, Ambassador Melissa Seaforth and her sister Michelle, Makiva Elvin, Duncan Corbin, Dwayne George, Anthony Nurse and others.
