The Leeward Islands Hurricanes defeated the Combined Colleges and Campuses by three wickets on the final day of the fourth round of the West Indies Four Day Championship.
Set a target of 316 to win, the Hurricanes’ openers fell cheaply as Mikyle Louis went for 13 while first innings centurion Kieran Powell scored only nine. Their dismissals brought West Indies batters to the middle, in that of Keacy Carty and Justin Greaves who both scored 61 runs to give the Hurricanes a chance of getting to the total. With contributions from Jahmar Hamilton 28, Jeremiah Louis 30, and Captain Rahkeem Cornwall who made an unbeaten 42, the Hurricanes were able to successfully chase the target.
Their next match is against the Jamaica Scorpions on Wednesday at the Sabina Park in Jamaica. They currently sit in second place behind the leader, the Windward Islands
