Hot Tool and East Bank advance in small goal league

Hot Tool secured their place in the semifinal round of the Denfield “Tody” Thomas Memorial League on Monday, edging Pro Ballers 1-0 when they met in the feature contest of a double-header in the small goal competition.
Playing in Liberta, Raj Phillip scored the lone goal for Hot Tool, putting them into the semis where they will face Jah Youths on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, East Bank Demerara advanced 2-1 on penalty kicks after their match against New Generation ended scoreless in regulation time. They will face Napoli in the other semifinal contest.
East Bank Demerara and Napoli will play at 5:30 p.m. while Jah Youths and Hot Tool clash at 6:45 p.m.
In the Fort Road Football League, teams continue to battle for the three remaining playoff spots with Fort Road East having already qualified at the top of the standings 21 points after their quota of nine matches.
Manchester (16 points), Cool Runnings (15 points), Demolition (15 points), Fort Road West (15 points) and Nat Pan My Team (13 points) are still in with chances of booking one of the three remaining spots.
The Fort Road league is slated to continue on Wednesday.
