Greenbay Hoppers were crowned champions of the Anderson Carty Grays Green Football league champions for the second consecutive year.
Hoppers, playing on Thursday night in the finals at the King George V grounds, defeated Jennings 2-0 with goals from Omega Jeffrey and Adrian Lyne.
The champions walked away with $200 in cash money while a number of other individual awards were also given.
Adrian Lyne was named the Midfielder of the tournament and was awarded $250 dollars while teammates Omega Jeffrey and Armiel Joseph were given the Golden Boots award.
Both Jeffrey and Joseph shared the award with Troy Jarvis of Ghetto Youths Connections and Jason Benjamin of Nat Pan My Team (NPMT).
All four men shared equally $400 and scored four goals.
Other cash prizes were given to other personalities who contributed towards the success of the league. The President of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Everton “Batow” Gonsalves and the recently appointed Sports Commissioner, Colin James, spoke enthusiastically about the league’s organizing committee, the league itself and the sponsor, Anderson Carty.
