Hoax alleges dead bodies at Devil’s Bridge

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The discovery of two Dominican men shot to death execution style in a house in Cedar Valley last Friday is apparently fuelling speculation that more dead bodies will be found.

The rumour mill has now gone into overdrive, and some person or persons have engaged in mischievous activity that is impacting on the authorities.

A report surfaced Monday that three bodies had been discovered at Devil’s Bridge.

Inundated with queries about the truth of the report, police and other security and emergency personnel dispatched teams to the area to deal with the alleged horrific situation.

It turned out to be nothing more than a false alarm.

The authorities say such false reports are detracting from genuine efforts to address Antigua and Barbuda’s crime problems.
