The nation’s top health officials have advised revelers and vendors to practice good sanitation during the 2019 Carnival season

Chief Health Inspector Sharon Martin reminded vendors to ensure that they are up to standard with the necessary food handling procedures as outlined by the Central Board of Health (CBH).

“We have a lot of eating and drinking taking place during the festival so we ask persons, especially the vendors, to exercise caution in how they handle foods during the season,” Martin said on yesterday’s OBSERVER AM programme.

She has also discouraged anyone who does not possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate or liquor license to sell food to the general public. She said that those who are interested and those whose documents have expired should seek training during the monthly sessions conducted by the health authority.
