The assassination of Haiti’s President Jovenel Moise has sent shockwaves across the world and the Haitian community in Antigua and Barbuda has not been spared.

The head of charitable group Friends of Haiti – Pastor Gerald La Fleur says it is an emotional time for the over 50 Haitians that call the twin island state home.

Pastor La Fleur says while Haiti has suffered due to several natural disasters, there are systemic issues that need to be addressed for the impoverished country to progress.
