National Under 17/19 coach, Ian Tittle, has expressed confidence in the Leeward Islands Under 17 team’s prospects at the Cricket West Indies Under 17 Rising Stars Tournament in Trinidad.
The squad departed Antigua on Sunday following a four-day camp last week, which included both a two-day and a one-day match.
When questioned about the team’s preparedness for the tournament, Tittle acknowledged, “While we often wish for more preparation time, we must work with what we have. I believe we have a strong team; we just need to execute well on the field. If our players perform to their potential and understand their roles, I’m confident we’ll see good results.”
The Leeward Islands team is set to begin their campaign on Wednesday against the Windward Islands in the two-day competition. They will then face Guyana on Saturday and Jamaica on the following Tuesday.
The one-day series is scheduled to commence on August 25th, with the Leeward Islands taking on Jamaica in their opening match.
The team will have one day of rest between each subsequent game, facing Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the Windward Islands, and Guyana in that order.
