A ruthless display of attacking football saw Jennings United FC demolish Lion Hill FC 7-1 in Tuesday’s Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s First Division clash at Golden Grove, with both Daryl Massicot and Rasheed Lambert claiming hat-tricks in thrilling performances that sent shockwaves through the division.
The rout began early when Massicot converted from the penalty spot in the 7th minute. Lion Hill’s Akeel Barry managed to level the score in the 25th minute, giving his side brief hope before the floodgates opened in a devastating second-half display.
Daviae Aaron reignited Jennings’ dominance in the 62nd minute before Massicot struck twice more, completing his hat-trick with goals in the 67th and 76th minutes. However, the most remarkable sequence came in the dying minutes when Lambert produced a stunning three-goal burst in just three minutes – finding the net in the 80th, 82nd, and 83rd minutes – to complete the demolition. The win has put United in contention for promotion to the premier league as they move to 18 points with five games in hand. At the top of the table are Rangers and SAP on 21 points each with three and two games in hand respectively.
Meanwhile, at Johnsons, Bendals also picked up a convincing 4-0 victory over Police FC. Kaijah Matthew was the star of the show, netting twice (5′, 32′), while Jevon Francis (19′) and Mitcheo Edwards (60′) rounded out the scoring.
In a tighter affair at Bolans, FC Master Ballers secured three points with a 1-0 win over Bolans FC, thanks to Jamil Thomas‘s 10th-minute strike.
In Second Division action, Guydadli FC emerged victorious in an entertaining 4-2 clash against Real Blizzard FC at KS Sheppard Recreation Park. Guydadli’s fast start proved decisive, with Michael Peters, Terrol Ponde, and Jaiden Wray all finding the net within the first 19 minutes. Peters would later add his second, while Real Blizzard’s goals came through Dravid Richardson and Clive Ambrose.
