PORT AU PRINCE, Haiti, Oct 29, CMC – Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is to hold talks with Haiti’s president, Jovenel Moise here on Tuesday on the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Single Market and Economy (CSME).
Informed CARICOM sources told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) that the meeting with Moise is to discuss with Haiti “what is required to move the country quicker towards being CSME ready”.
The CSME allows for the free movement of goods, skills, labour and services across the 15-member grouping.
Trinidad and Tobago will host a special CARICOM summit on the CSME on December 3-4.
Meanwhile, Mottley will travel to Jamaica on Wednesday to attend the University of the West Indies (UWI)’ Finance and General Purpose Committee meeting on Wednesday and to chair the Special Meeting of the Grants Committee on Thursday, November 1.
A Barbados government statement said that she will also participate in the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association’s Cruise Conference and Trade Show in Puerto Rico on November 5-6 that will also be attended by other CARICOM leaders.
