Grenades Youths broke their five-game losing streak on Thursday afternoon in the Myron “Percy” Phillip Invitational Football League in Golden Grove.

Playing in the lone encounter of the day, the round south team edged out Sunday Runners 3-2.

An own goal by Hayden Adams in the 7th minute, plus 13th and 33rd minute strikes from Kitwahna Thomas and Timothy April, gave the victors their first three points in Group B to move them onto four points.

Sundays Runners’ Kevor Martin (41st) and Stephen Hughes (48th) found the back of the net in a losing effort.

Twenty-four hours earlier, Emanuel FC edged out Nabu Samuel Cutting Edge FA 3-2.

Andre Nicholas was a goal shy of a hattrick for the victors, while the final goal came from Rick Gordon.

Cutting Edge’s Tishorn Davis recorded a brace in a losing effort.

Matches will continue today at 4:20 p.m. when El Guapo will face off versus Daddy Sweet Trucking-DNA Plant Nursery-Barnes Funeral Home-Hyaena Construction Nat Pan My Team (NPMT), while at 5:30 p.m. George Whenner Cool Runnings will battle Anderson Carty Greenbay United.
