Grenades FC kept their unbeaten streak alive in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Premier Division on Monday when they defeated top flight newcomers Potters Tigers two-nil (2-0) at the FA’s Technical Center on the Sir Sydney Walling Highway.
The frontrunners had goals from Barrington Blake who netted from the penalty spot in minute 54 and Eugene Kirwan who sealed all three points in the 83rd minute, lifting Grenades to their fifth win in six matches. They move to 16 points alongside defending champions All Saints United but Grenades are ahead on goal difference. Potters remains on four points from seven showings and third from bottom in the standings.
Meanwhile in the Second Division, Belmont FC recorded a comfortable 4-1 victory over Earthquake FC also at the FA’s Technical Center.
Jahvier Joseph led the way for Belmont with a hattrick, netting in minutes nine, 69 and 84 while Iandre Hodge scored the other goal in minute 52. Junito Jeffrey scored the only goal for Earthquake when he struck in minute 80.
Also on Monday, Rela Blizzard had the better of West Ham FC by a 3-1 margin when they met at PMS. Skerwin Boland (17), Courtney Harney (40) and Dravid Richardson (85) all scored once for the victors. Allexis Azille scored the only goal for West Ham in minute 72.
