Sandals Grande Antigua /Inet Grenades FC delivered a masterclass performance with an 8-0 demolition of Greenbay Hoppers FC, while John Hughes and Garden Stars picked up convincing victories over their opponents in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier League at the ABFA Technical Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The final match of the evening saw the former champions’ victory highlighted by Kamol Griffith’s impressive hat-trick. The striker struck in the 7th, 47th and 63rd minutes, while Luis Cuidad Labrada, Quinton Griffith, Malcolm Stewart, D’Jarie Sheppard, and Rick Gordon all found the net in what proved to be a relentless attacking display which significantly boosted their goal difference.
In an earlier match, John Hughes’ striker Deno Bryan powered his team to a 3-1 victory over Potters Tigers with a clinical hat-trick. Bryan opened his account in the 11th minute and doubled the lead in the 23rd before Keon Greene pulled one back for Tigers in the 37th minute. Bryan completed his treble in the 66th minute to secure all three points.
Garden Stars showcased their attacking flair in a thrilling 4-2 victory over Five Islands FC, maintaining their impressive form this season. While Jaheim Jeremy converted two penalties for Five Islands (47′, 68′), Garden Stars’ superior attacking play proved decisive. Makhai Browne and Courtney Clarke gave Stars a 2-0 first-half lead, before late strikes from Wilden Cornwall and Kemoi Walsh sealed the victory in dramatic fashion.
