A 20-year-old resident of Greenbay Hill is facing multiple charges following a series of store break-ins last month.
Jermaine Thomas, who was sentenced on Wednesday for breaking into E-Bike Tours on August 29, appeared in court again on Thursday to face additional charges.
Thomas had received a 10-month prison sentence for the E-Bike Tours incident, where he stole an electric bike worth $4,000, a cash register, and money.
He now faces further legal consequences after admitting to several other offences on the same night.
Yesterday, he admitted to breaking a glass window at Gold Beauty Plus on the corner of Redcliffe and Temple streets. Thomas also acknowledged damaging glass at Ceco Pharmacy on High Street and stealing $10 from the premises.
Additionally, he confessed to breaking the lock of Party Paradise on Redcliffe Street and stealing a $3,000 cash register from the store. He also admitted to damaging a lock at Nellie’s and Archie’s Catering on Cross and Nevis Streets.
However, Thomas pleaded not guilty to charges of attempting to break into Nellie’s and Archie’s Catering. He also denied involvement in the theft of a cash register, phone, and $1,570 in cash from Gold Beauty Plus.
The accused is scheduled to stand trial before Magistrate Conliffe Clarke on October 9 for the charges he disputes. Following this trial, he will face sentencing for the offences to which he has already admitted guilt.
