22 year old Andre Henry Aka “Belly Man” of Green Bay was arrested by the police, following a shooting incident which took place on Parliament Street, shortly after midnight on Friday.
It is alleged that Henry armed himself with a gun, which he used to fire several shots at a fellow villager, following an altercation he earlier had with the man’s son. One of the bullets allegedly struck and caused damage to a motor vehicle which was parked in the area at the time. No one was injured coming out of the incident. He was taken into custody around 8:30 am on Friday, and is now assisting the police further with their investigations. The Police have since recovered what appeared to be spent ammunition shells and a .380 round of ammunition from the scene.
Meanwhile, Lev Josiah of Paynters and Erica Thomas of Mount Joy are both arrested and in police custody, assisting the police in their investigations into allegations of Money Laundering. They were intercepted at the V. C. Bird International Airport Friday night by Airport security, with over US$20,000 and almost EC$3,000 in their possession. Airport Security was conducting one of their routine security checks, when they found Thomas with US$18,696.00 and EC$785 in his possession; while Josiah was found with US$2,336.00 and EC$1,750 in her possession. They were booked to travel to St. Maarten. The monies were seized and the matter was handed over to Customs and the Police. The Police Proceeds of Crime Unit are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
