Gov’t contemplates National Public Health Institute

Government says it is contemplating the creation of a National Public Health Institute as part of ongoing discussions about the air quality in public buildings.

During Wednesday’s weekly Cabinet meeting, Director of Analytical Services within the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Linroy Christian, met with officials to share data in relation to the creation of a national air quality in buildings policy.

At the post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday, Information Minister Melford Nicholas disclosed that such an institute would bring areas of expertise on public health under one body.
