A Golden Grove resident is facing multiple charges following an incident with law enforcement during a traffic stop last month.
Kevin Schulth was formally charged after an altercation on Long Street on December 28. The incident occurred when a traffic officer attempted to issue Schulth a ticket for a traffic violation.
According to police, Schulth refused to provide his driver’s licence when requested to do so and used insulting and indecent language toward the officer. He also declined to provide his name and address, resulting in additional charges.
The charges filed against Schulth include: Insulting Language, Failure to Comply with Lawful Directions, Indecent Language, Failure to Produce a Valid Driver’s License, Disorderly Conduct by Making Noise, Refusing to Give Name, and Refusing to Give Address.
Law enforcement noted that despite Schulth’s conduct, the traffic officer maintained his composure and professionalism throughout the encounter.
Schulth is expected to appear in court this week to answer to the charges.
