A total of 20 goals were scored in another high-scoring day of football in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Premier League at the ABFA Technical Centre, Garden Stars put on a 7-3 showcase over the Potters Tigers. The match featured opposing hat-tricks from Stars’ Ngozi Harvey and Tigers’ Keon Greene.
Garden Stars dominated from the outset, building a 3-0 first-half lead through Kemoi Walsh (15′), Wilden Cornwall Jr (18′), and Harvey (45′). The offensive onslaught continued after the break with Tarek Charles (57′) and Harvey’s second (63′). Greene pulled one back for Tigers in the 77th minute, but Harvey completed his hat-trick two minutes later. Greene responded with two late goals (85′, 90′), sandwiching Jahred Williams‘ 86th-minute strike for Stars.
Title contenders Grenades maintained their championship pursuit with a convincing 5-0 victory over Willikies. Barrington Blake and Kurt Frederick established a 2-0 halftime lead with goals in the 17th and 43rd minutes respectively. Luis Cuidad Lebrada extended the advantage in the 62nd minute before D’Jarie Sheppard‘s brace (62′, 84’) completed the rout.
The evening concluded with John Hughes staging a remarkable comeback to defeat Aston Villa 3-2. Villa took the lead through Rajadel Lara Dorgy Maiko‘s 19th-minute strike, but Deno Bryan‘s quickfire double (50′, 55’) turned the tide after the restart. Dominica forward Troy Jules netted what proved to be the winner, extending the lead to 3-1. Orel Edwards scored a late consolation for Villa, but John Hughes held firm to secure all three points.
