Action in the Jennings Ebenezer Community Sports Club Football Invitational League continued on Thursday with the semifinals of the knockout at the Jennings playing field.
The first semi-final was played on Thursday in Jennings with Group B’s Ghetto Youth taking a one-nil win over Group A’s Green City who topped the group. Shamoy Carty provided the lone goal in the 25th minute of the first half.
The second semi-final will be played on Sunday when runners-up in Group B, Sap take on Group A’s Demolition. Sap’s Tejano Jarvis is the joint leading scorer with four goals along with Jean-Pierre Williams. Following them closely are Rakeem Henry and Devonte Benjamin both on three goals. The final is slated for September 10th.
The 10-team tournament was organised by Jennings Ebenezer Sports Club. There were five teams from the community, namely Jennings United, Kids from Brazil, Alley, Demolition Youth, Science Up and five from the outside — Sap, Green City, Bendals, Bolans FC, and Ghetto Youth.
