Garden Stars and Bendals stay relevant, ABAYA stuns Lion Hill

Garden Stars were huge winners in Zone A of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s (ABFA) Second Division on Monday, dismantling Urlings 7-2 when they met in Liberta.

Zidon Carr scored twice, hitting the back of the net in minutes 45 and 68 to lead Garden Stars’ charge. There were single conversions from Astel Joseph in minute 28, Omri Smith in minute 40, Gameel Phillip in minute 66, Omar Simpson in minute 77 and Norris Hope in minute 80.

Corey Murraine scored both goals for Urlings.

The victory moves Stars to the top of the standings with 39 points from their 15 showings, while Urlings continue to struggle with just nine points and are 11th in the 14-team standings.

There was victory as well for Bendals FC as they beat Real Blizzard 2-0 in Bendals. Mitcheo Edwards scored both goals, striking in minutes 59 and 78 to move Bendals into the fourth position with 33 points from just 12 matches.

Meanwhile, ABAYA stunned Lion Hill 3-0 in Parham. Andy Daniel scored twice when he struck in minutes 14 and 23, while John Francis scored the other goal in the 50th minute. ABAYA move to 16 points from 13 showings while Lion Hill remain second with 35 points.

In Zone B, Green City were 2-0 winners over Sea View Farm with goals from Sylvester Fenton and Chesniel Paul. City are on 30 points from 14 matches, while Farm remain on 22 points and fifth in the standings.

In the other Zone B showdown, Master Ballerz defeated 5P’s Wadadli FC, 2-0.
